Description
• From totems to animal sculptures and jewelry gems, the art of carving soapstones has been passed down by the master craftsmen in Peru for hundreds of years.
• Soapstone is valued in helping one prepare for change, promoting rational and creative thinking.
• Metaphysically, soapstone is said to balance the digestive system, reducing inflamation on the skin as well.
• Pieces are exclusively carved from Andean Esteatita soapstones, and include a range of muted colors – cream, soft turquoise, greys, ochre tones are typical. Each piece is entirely one of a kind. Provenance is from the San Miguel region of Cajamarca, Perú.
