A one-player game of jumps and eliminations, played with fifteen tree-shaped pieces hand-carved from creamy Cajamarca soapstone. You start with fifteen trees, jumping one over another and removing it, until only one remains. The classic solve leaves only one single piece on the board.
The base is made from cachimbo, a warm-toned hardwood from the Peruvian Amazon. The trees are carved by hand in our Pacasmayo workshop from soapstone sourced in the San Miguel region of Cajamarca. Natural variation in the stone means no two sets are identical.
Soapstone is a soft, sculptural stone long associated with patience and slow change. The Cajamarca variety we work with runs from pale pink to warm cream, sometimes with grey or ochre tones inside a single set. It is one of the oldest carved stones in the Andean tradition, worked by artisan families in San Miguel who have carried the practice across generations.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after handling. If cleaning is needed, wash gently with warm water and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Soapstone is durable but soft — avoid abrasives and hard drops onto tile.Made in Pacasmayo
